They were going to give Cassie another dose of the narcotic that they gave her earlier, but Children's Hospital is all out of that drug.  In fact there is a nation-wide shortage of that specific narcotic and there are only so many pain medications that they can give pregnant women so they have to figure out what they can actually give her.
