They decided not to take Owen off of the ventilator today. Every time he wakes up he is very uncomfortable and his renal numbers drop significantly.
For a while Owen was wide awake and looking around. Soon he was getting uncomfortable, and he pooped for the first time since his surgery. His renal numbers dropped pretty low and he was silently crying because he can't really make any sound with the breathing tube in. To calm him down they gave him another dose of morphine and once he was back asleep his renal numbers came up.
Now a long time friend Matt Parlato and his girlfriend Kashi Rathnam are here to visit.
