6:00pm April 3rd

I went down to visit with Owen while Cassie was taking a nap.  When I got down there someone from Urology was in there looking at his charts.  She said that his kidneys were looking really good.  Yesterday his ureters had looked a little inflamed which could have been from a back up of excess urine into his kidneys.  That seems to have cleared up since they put in his catheter yesterday.  They also got more fluids in, so they started using his pick line while I was down there.  He still has the umbilical line in for now just so that it can clot off and then it won't bleed when they pull that out.
Doesn't he look so peaceful?  I just can't believe how cute he is.

    1. Hi Jessi,
I am one of newborn Owen's grandmothers and I'd like to say, "Thank you" to you for taking time to post your message of hope so my son and daughter-in-law can increase their levels of optimism and faith that their baby's 3 heart surgeries will be successful. You are a special, caring young woman because you have reached out to share this message of hope with people that you have never met. I pray that your life is filled with everything that is good.
      Sincerely,
      Rosemary

  3. Owen looks so comfortable and relaxed, and cute, of course! I am really encouraged to see the blog entry written by Jessie (above). Wow! She is age 22 and she also had multiple heart defects and she is doing okay. Her news gives optimistic hope, elevated trust, and faith that Owen's surgeries will all go well. The surgical skills of the doctors at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin, care from a knowledgeable staff, and loving guidance and care from God make a great dynamic combination!! In addition, Owen is already a little fighter, so I have confidence that he will undoubtedly live up to his name.
