Tubes out 10:55am April 9th

Well, they are taking Owen's chest tubes out right now.  They almost couldn't take his tubes out again because they had misplaced his chart from last night and they didn't know how much drainage they were getting out of the tubes.  So, first they removed his heart lines and then they were able to track down his chart (which happened to be in the middle of one of the other baby's charts, don't know how it ended up there).  Hopefully getting these chest tubes out, which everyone says are more painful than the incision, will help him calm down so that they can try to take him off of the ventilator again.  They are leaving in his pacer lines, but they haven't had a need to use them at all, they are there just in case anything should go wrong.

He seems a lot more relaxed now that those tubes are out.
